Welcome to the Department of Health's website on diabetes.

In South Australia, about 80,000 adults are currently living with diabetes.  In addition, up to 80,000 people have diabetes but do not know because it has not been diagnosed.

The number of people with diabetes in South Australia has increased over the past decade.

In Australia, the number of people with diabetes has trebled since 1981 and there are now almost one million Australians with diabetes.

This website has been developed to provide a comprehensive range of information about diabetes to South Australians. The information is provided as a general guide only. It will be of interest to people with diabetes, their family, friends, carers, students and teachers.
